Some people mention to me time and again, that because of my personality, I make very few friends, but the few people whom I name 'friends' are true friends of mine. Since young, as I had mentioned to some, I made a few very good friends at each phase of my life and bring them along as I advance into new phases of my life.
I trust people rather easily, but once the trust is broken, it will never be an easy task to mend it back. In fact, even a minor incident that signals to me a possibility of betrayal of trust may cause me to put on a protective shield to prepare for the worse. Like the saying goes, 'it takes many efforts to build trust, but it just takes a split second to break it'.
However, some people, whom I trusted so much, managed to fool me so many a times I feel so foolish and ashamed of myself. Like I said, it's not that I am not aware of what is happening, but it's the trust that I have in these people which caused me to never want to believe my every own instincts. But oh boy am I so wrong, so wrong to believe in these people rather than my own instincts.
'There are daggers in men's smiles.' Oh how true, how true! Well, who am I to fool?
